When You're Ready for Real and Lasting Change

By the time most people consider a therapy intensive, they’ve often spent a great deal of time trying to change their relationship with alcohol or other substances. They may have made promises to themselves and others, tried to cut back or stop, experienced periods of success, and wondered why they keep returning to the same patterns.

At ReGroup Counseling, we believe lasting recovery is about more than simply stopping substance use. It involves understanding what the substance has been doing for you, addressing the deeper issues and patterns that keep pulling you back, and beginning to build a life in which recovery can last.

What can you expect to gain?

During your intensive, we’ll work together to help you:

✓ Understand What Keeps You Stuck

Begin identifying the patterns, triggers, experiences, and underlying issues that continue to pull you back toward alcohol or substance use.

✓ Address the Deeper Issues

Move beyond simply trying to stop using and begin addressing the emotional pain, unresolved experiences, and other issues that may continue to fuel addictive patterns.

✓ Build Practical Recovery Skills

Develop personalized strategies and practical tools to help you navigate triggers, manage difficult emotions, and respond differently when old patterns begin to emerge.

✓ Create a Recovery Plan

Leave with greater clarity, practical next steps, and a personalized plan for continuing to build recovery and support the progress you’ve begun during your intensive.

Why a Therapy
Intensive?

Patterns of substance use often develop over years and can be difficult to understand and change one hour at a time. Just as meaningful work begins, the session ends—and it can be easy to return to the same triggers, pressures, and patterns before the next appointment.

A therapy intensive provides extended, focused time to step out of the usual cycle and stay with the work. Instead of repeatedly stopping and starting, you have the opportunity to better understand what keeps you stuck, address deeper issues, develop practical recovery skills, and build momentum toward lasting change.

An intensive isn’t a quick fix or the end of recovery. For many people, it provides a strong foundation that helps the ongoing work of recovery become more focused, effective, and sustainable.

Bridge In Forest

Your Intensive Experience

Pre-Intensive Assessment and Planning Session

Before your intensive begins, we’ll meet for a one-hour session to learn more about your current situation, answer your questions, and clarify your goals. This conversation allows your therapist to begin tailoring the intensive specifically to your needs so your time together is focused, intentional, and meaningful from the moment you arrive.

You’ll Be Heard

Your story is about more than substance use. We’ll take time to understand your experiences, challenges, and the role alcohol or other substances have played in your life without reducing you to your behaviors.

You’ll Begin to Understand

Together, we’ll explore the patterns, triggers, experiences, and deeper issues that may be contributing to substance use. Understanding what keeps the cycle going is an important step toward changing it.

You’ll Begin to Heal

Recovery involves more than learning how not to use. You’ll have the opportunity to begin addressing the deeper pain and unresolved issues that may continue to fuel addictive patterns.

You’ll Build a Path Forward

You’ll leave with greater clarity, practical recovery tools, and personalized recommendations for continued therapy, support, and the next steps in building lasting recovery.

Experienced Therapists.
A Personalized Match.

Recovery is deeply personal, and the right therapist matters. Our team includes experienced therapists who understand addiction and the complex emotional, relational, and life experiences that can contribute to substance use.

We’ll help match you with a therapist—or team of therapists—based on your history, goals, needs, and the specific challenges you’re facing. Your intensive will then be personalized around what will be most helpful for your recovery rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

You don’t have to know which therapist or format is right for you before reaching out. We’ll help you determine the best fit.
