When Everything Has Changed

The discovery of an affair can turn your world upside down in an instant. One moment life feels familiar, and the next you may be overwhelmed by shock, anger, fear, guilt, questions, and uncertainty about what happens next. Conversations can quickly become painful and overwhelming, while waiting another week for the next therapy appointment can feel impossible.

An Affair Recovery Intensive provides focused time to slow things down, understand what has happened, and begin addressing what is needed most right now. The intensive may involve both partners together or focus on one partner individually, depending on your circumstances, needs, and goals.

For couples, the work may focus on creating stability, establishing honesty and accountability, beginning to address the impact of the affair, and determining a path forward. Individually, the intensive can provide dedicated time to process what has happened, understand your own experience, and gain greater clarity about what you need and what comes next.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. When everything feels uncertain, having the right support and enough focused time can help you begin taking the next steps with greater clarity and hope.

What can you expect to gain?

During your intensive, we’ll work together to help you:

✓ Greater Stability

When emotions and uncertainty feel overwhelming, the first priority is often slowing things down. You’ll begin identifying what is needed now to create greater stability and make thoughtful decisions rather than simply reacting to the crisis.

✓ Greater Clarity

An affair can leave you with more questions than answers. You’ll have focused time to better understand what has happened, identify the issues that need attention, and gain greater clarity about what comes next.

✓ A Path Toward Healing

Healing looks different for every individual and couple. You’ll begin addressing the impact of the affair, identifying what healing may require, and taking meaningful first steps toward recovery.

✓ A Clear Plan Forward

You don’t have to leave with every answer. You will leave with practical next steps and personalized recommendations for continued support, therapy, and the work that comes next.

Why a Therapy
Intensive?

The days and weeks after an affair is discovered can be overwhelming. There may be intense emotions, difficult questions, disrupted trust, important decisions, and uncertainty about what to do next. Trying to address all of this one hour at a time can leave individuals and couples struggling to manage everything that happens between sessions.

An intensive provides the focused time and space to slow things down and address what matters most right now. Rather than trying to solve everything at once, we can work together to create greater stability, gain clarity, begin addressing the impact of the affair, and determine the most helpful path forward.

An intensive isn’t meant to resolve everything in a day or two. It’s designed to provide meaningful support at a critical time and create a strong foundation for the work that comes next.

Your Intensive Experience

Pre-Intensive Assessment and Planning Session

Before your intensive begins, we’ll meet for a one-hour session to learn more about your current situation, answer your questions, and clarify your goals. This conversation allows your therapist to begin tailoring the intensive specifically to your needs so your time together is focused, intentional, and meaningful from the moment you arrive.

You’ll Have Space to Slow Things Down

The aftermath of an affair can feel overwhelming and chaotic. We’ll create space to step out of the immediate cycle of reacting, arguing, questioning, or shutting down so you can begin focusing on what is needed most.

You’ll Be Heard

Whether you attend individually or as a couple, your experience matters. You’ll have space to share what has happened, how it has affected you, and the questions and concerns you’re carrying without being rushed through the process.

You’ll Begin to Understand

Affairs are rarely simple, and understanding what happened is not the same as excusing it. We’ll begin exploring the circumstances, patterns, and deeper issues that need to be understood in order for meaningful healing and change to occur.

You’ll Find a Path Forward

You may not leave with every answer, but you won’t have to remain stuck in the chaos of not knowing what to do next. We’ll help you identify priorities, next steps, and a personalized path for the work ahead.

Experienced Therapists.
A Personalized Match.

Affair recovery is deeply personal, and the right therapist matters. Our team includes experienced therapists who understand the complexity of infidelity and the very different needs that can emerge in its aftermath.

Whether you participate individually or as a couple, we’ll help match you with a therapist—or team of therapists—based on your circumstances, goals, and the kind of support you need most. Your intensive will then be personalized around you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

You don’t have to figure out which therapist or format is right for you before reaching out. We’ll help you determine the best fit.
